| Summary, etc. | Néologisme ou véritable concept, le terme de bientraitance est apparu historiquement dans les domaines de l’enfance, de la gériatrie et de la gérontologie. Difficilement traduisible dans la langue anglo-américaine, ce terme ne présente pas de véritable support théorique, ni de modélisation conceptuelle précise. Nommer la bientraitance en opposition à la maltraitance semble réducteur. Dès lors, comment traduire au plus juste le terme de « bientraitance » ? Une approche étymologique, historique, philosophique entrevue dans une perspective phénoménologique de compréhension peut nous aider à appréhender la notion. L’objet « bientraitance » pouvant être entrevu sous l’angle du care, du caring et de l’éthique du care.Le présent article se structure autour de trois questions :- Qu’est ce que la bientraitance ?- Qu’est ce que l’éthique du care ?- Quels sont les points de similitude et de différences ? In fine, nous démontrerons que la bientraitance procède d’une acculturation où le souci pour autrui en termes de prise de conscience porte sur les attitudes professionnelles (écoute, empathie, sollicitude...) et sur les praxis (chaque acte de soin porté à l’attention de...). |

Similarities and differences concerning the scientific reviewNeologism or new concept, the term “bientraitance” in french appeared historically in the disciplinary field of childhood and geriatrics. Difficult to translate in the Anglo-American language, this word does not present a theoretical approach and a precise conceptual modeling. Use the term “bientraitance” in opposition with the term “maltreatment” seems reducing the notion. Therefore how to translate accurately the notion of “bientraitance” ? Approach etymological, historical, philosophical in a phenomenological perspective can help us understand the concept. The object “bientraitance” will be suspected under the angle of care, caring and ethic of care.This article is structured around three questions :- What is “Bientraitance” ?- What is the ethics of care ?- What are the similarities and differences ? In fine, we will demonstrate that the term of Bientraitance is a cultural consciousness about the professional attitudes (listening, empathy, care) and the professional praxis (each act of care centred about others). |
