Aristote définit le citoyen en procédant à une approche fonctionnelle, qui se fonde sur l’idée de son ergon. Cette définition n’est pas simplement un endoxon, mais un principe vrai et fondamental de la politikê philosophia d’Aristote. De cette définition, il déduit certains points principaux de sa théorie politique, comme le critère d’admission à la citoyenneté et la distinction entre bonnes et mauvaises constitutions. |

His definition of citizenship is a functional one, and is based on the idea of the ergon that qualifies the citizen as such.
