520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Since the pioneering studies of Pierre Clastres, so-called anarchist political anthropology, despite its differences, considers that if certain societies reject the State (or even any incipient centralisation of power), they do so in reaction to it. In other words, these societies are the result of resistance to the State. The question we can ask is this : isn’t it strange for an “anarchist” anthropology that every social configuration is due to the State, whether through acceptance, submission or, if not, reaction to it ? Based on the ethnography of a group of indigenous peoples in the Upper Amazon, this text aims to show that if certain societies reject the State, it is not only to avoid its effects, but above all because they choose a type of social relations and forms of subjectivity that are incompatible with centralised power. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
