Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | From loss of the protective psychological envelope to the reinforcement of the home envelope: A home-care case studyThis article puts forward the idea that the home can be thought of as if it was an envelope. An analogy can be drawn between the functions of the envelope formed by the home and the functions of the psychological envelope. A clinical case study is used to show that a psychotic patient can (particularly during a period of decompensation characterized by a loss of effective functioning of the protective shield provided by the psychological envelope) begin to act, think and feel as if their home is actually an element of their psychological envelope. In any event, it may be useful when conducting home-based interviews to take into account how the patient uses their home as an envelope in the clinical relationship. |
