Barthes adopts a structuralist perspective, eschewing biographical analysis in favor of examining the play’s internal system of characters and their functions, such as the “Father” and “Son,” along with dynamics of power and desire, while exploring different forms of love like “Eros sororal” and “Eros-Event.” Michel Meyer, adopting a problematological approach, interprets the tragedy as the product of tension between established social structures and the questioning of identity that arises through historical changes. He argues that passion-driven characters like Pyrrhus disrupt the established order, leading to their downfall. This article argues that Meyer’s interpretation most closely aligns with contemporary social realities and offers valuable insights for understanding tragedy, particularly in comparative analyses of Western and Chinese tragedies. |

Mauron emploie une méthode psychocritique basée sur la théorie freudienne, analysant les schémas récurrents et le « complexe d’Œdipe » à travers l’inconscient et les expériences d’enfance de Racine.
