À partir d’indicateurs tels que la population, la superficie et la densité des agglomérations urbaines, nous questionnons le concept de « dispersion urbaine » employé dans les études urbaines en portugais, en espagnol et en italien pour décrire l’« urban sprawl » (étalement urbain). L’étalement urbain au Brésil n’est pas aussi marqué que dans d’autres pays.
