| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | David’s affiliation to the Jacobine cause is unquestionable. But as time passed, David ended up serving Caesarism and its totemisation. His Saint Bernard (1800-1801) embodies a categorical imperative. We shall follow this process up to his portrait of the tyrant in his office (1811-1812) drawn as a Moses and Totem of the new monotheism of a panoptical administration. |
