| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | Give me your dopamine – your libidoA certain “neurophilosophy” is extremely fashionable nowadays. Its most famous representatives Searle, Damasio and Dennett strive to reactualize classical theories about conscience as resulting solely from our brain activity. So called objective, digitalized techniques are summoned to trace the physical and chemical modifications in the subcortical nucleus. Their theoretical assumptions will be questioned in the light of what they pretend to outdo without having even succeeded in understanding : a) that it is social life that determines the conscience and not the other way round (Marx), b) and that the discharges of neurotransmitter which fascinate them so much are activated by the relation of the subject to the other in transference and presuppose the incomplete other of “lalangue”. |
