| Summary, etc. | Paul Celan is widely recognized as the greatest German-language poet born in the twentieth century and is no less accomplished as a translator of numerous poets from several languages. The present article considers Celan’s untranslatable work in translation : French, English, Russian, Italian, Roumanian and Portuguese are the languages that are included. This contribution is formally divided into several sections that reflect categories of Celanian translation ( geschiedene Sprache, Umkehrung, Textspannungen und -widerstände, Intertextualität) and investigates translations of works by Mandelstam, Shakespeare, Dickinson, Ungaretti, Teodorescu, Pessoa, Rimbaud, Apollinaire. |

| Summary, etc. | Vorliegender Artikel widerspricht der « Heiligenlegende » der Celanschen Übertragungstechnik und zeigt, wie wenig penibel der meistinterpretierte deutsche Dichter nach 1945 beim Übersetzen war. Daraus entstand eine aus dem Trauma und den Grenzzuständen geborene « geschiedene Sprache », die gerne Umkehrungen abschafft, Textspannungen und -widerstände mal berücksichtigt, mal vernachlässigt, und intertextuelle Perspektiven bevorzugt. Um dieser Privatsprache nachgehen zu können, sollte ein Interpret auch des Rumänischen kundig sein, was bei den meisten Celanexperten nicht der Fall ist. Untersucht werden Übersetzungen von Mandelstam, Shakespeare, Dickinson, Ungaretti, Teodorescu, Pessoa, Rimbaud und Apollinaire. |
