À travers les trajectoires de joueurs africains, comme celles d’Arthur Wharton, de Larbi Ben Barek, d’Eusébio ou de Salif Keita, l’article suit ces circulations depuis les années 1910 jusqu’à la fin des années 1970. Ces destins ont contribué à véhiculer les imaginaires, les passions et les enjeux politiques. Selon les époques, les joueurs sont des « indigènes », des « assimilés », des « travailleurs immigrés » ou des vedettes internationales issues d’un « réservoir de talents ». |

Taking the example of the career paths of players like Arthur Wharton, Larbi Ben Barek, Eusébio and Salif Keita, this paper traces such moves from 1910 to the end of the 1970s. These life courses serve as vectors for the imagination, for passions and for political interests.
