| Summary, etc. | Alphonse Aulard is often represented as an ardent dantonist compared with Albert Mathiez, the founder of the AHRF. This article revisits the polemical subject of Danton that, in 1893, witnessed the confrontation of Alphonse Aulard and the Doctor Robinet, a disciple of Auguste Comte. This controversy makes it possible to analyze the political acts of Danton in light of the philosophy of positivist history, and the notion of « dictator » in order to pose questions about the Republic, and the formation of « revolutionary history » as a methodical history. |
