Cette théologie politique, pensée sous le signe de l’« ambivalence » et de l’ambiguïté, trouve son origine dans un aspect précis, bien que peu remarqué, des grandes enquêtes historiques de Ginzburg depuis Les batailles nocturnes (1966) : une confrontation permanente avec la confession, à travers un examen attentif des pouvoirs de l’aveu. |

| Summary, etc. | Carla Ginzburg’s later texts developed an original « political theology », claimed as such and bringing together in a new synthesis the theology of history (as in Augustine), Biblical exegesis (Paul), a theory of cases and exceptions (Machiavel, Pascal, Carl Schmitt). This political theology, understood under the sign of « ambivalence » and ambiguity, finds its origin in a particular but often overlooked aspect of Ginzburg’s great historical enquiries since the Night Battles (1966): a pervasive confrontation with confession, through an attentive examination of the powers of avowal. |
