In order to grasp the nature of their relationship Jean-Baptiste Legavre draws on the concept of “partner-rival” first coined by the sociologist François Bourricaud’s in the sixties. His analysis unveils the structural “competition-cooperation” which frames their compromises and tensions. Instead of an empirical survey of case studies presented elsewhere by the author, this is a presentation of a theoretical framework in which to think specific power relationships. |
