Summary, etc. | Kafka, a thinker on the excesses of powerKafka (1883-1924) wrote novels in which people are condemned by an absolute power against which no recourse is permitted. But this body of work also recounts the protagonists' never-ending fight against the ban on living that is imposed upon them. Relentlessly, they strive to wrest their rights – or at least ascertain the reason for this ban – from the anonymous masters of the Court or the Castle. On the centenary of Kafka's death, this dual message has lost none of its force. Now more than ever, we must combat the autocratic regimes that are on the rise in our world, as well as the tendency of democracies to trivialise states of exception and reduce freedoms. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
