520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. A peace, even un unstable one, is better than a war – especially confessional – whether it is played out between powers on the scale of Europe or between those on the scale of a State. Such was the approach of James I in foreign policy, his via media. This contribution aims to measure the part of idealism, by proposing an analysis of James I’s policy with regard to the France of Marie de Medici. James I’s perception of the events in France, and his interventions in the French political game, allow us to understand how the ideal of peace was articulated and tried to be reconciled with the necessities of a “realistic” diplomacy and why his via media turned out to be a dead end.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
