520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Jung rarely discusses children’s dreams in his writings. However, certain essays included in Child Development and Education contain clinical case studies of children which Jung cites as demonstrations of the interactions between children’s dreams and family conflicts. On the Nature of Dreams is a seminar in which Jung more systematically studies the way the dream functions within the psyche, as a manifestation of the dialectic between the ego and unconscious. He emphasizes his « amplification method », which he opposes to Freudian free association. This approach proves to be especially productive in child therapy, where it consists of setting up a dialogue between the figures of the unconscious. |
