520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The most ancient Indian tradition is based on a body of enigmatic writings called the Veda, which places the investigation of secrecy at the core of revelation. Because language conceals the essence of wisdom, a quest is necessary. Subsequent religious teachings interiorise the secret : the âtman , or self, dwells in the human heart. As the temple of the self, the body possesses eminent dignity ; moreover, it is necessary as an existential vehicle towards the metaphysical knowledge which provides release. Such a philosophy of humanity is not at all obsolete if one believes, like Jung, that « the symbols of the self arise in the depths of the body ». |
