| Summary, etc. | Depuis des siècles, la fabrication d’un livre a toujours exigé le savoir-faire d’un éditeur. Tout écrivain souhaitant être publié et atteindre les étals des librairies devait de facto suivre le chemin éditorial qu’ont tracé les grandes maisons de l’édition depuis plus d’un siècle. Toutefois, avec l’arrivée dans les années 1990 du web, de nouveaux circuits éditoriaux, comme la plateforme d’auto-édition de type Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) d’Amazon, vont voir le jour, donnant la possibilité aux auteurs de faire livre par eux-mêmes. N’importe quel auteur peut aujourd’hui se publier très rapidement sans passer par le chemin balisé d’un professionnel de l’imprimé. À quoi bon attendre des semaines ou des mois l’éventuelle réponse d’un éditeur, jusqu’ici incontournable, pour éditer son manuscrit quand on peut le créer et le publier en quelques instants, en toute autonomie, sur internet ? |

Any writer today can, within a few clicks, publish his book without resorting to the printing house’s pathway.
