| Summary, etc. | Ophiocordyceps sinensis, also called cordyceps, is part of traditional Chinese and Tibetan pharmacopoeias. This medicinal fungus native to the high Himalaya Mountains is used as a tonic and an aphrodisiac. As it spread all over the world, its production processes, pharmaceutical forms, and indications have multiplied. From AIDS to cancer and diabetes, it has become a true panacea for the pharmacopoeia of alternative and complementary medicines.
