| Summary, etc. | To combat the revisionist views which deny the existence of gas chambers and the Holocaust during World War II, France has supplemented its antiracist legal apparatus with a special law, the « Gayssot act » (July 1990). This article analyses the history and implementation of that law through judicial decisions. It questions its legitimacy, its role, the concept of « misuse of law », its effects on freedom of speech and on the search for historical truth. |
