Summary, etc. ‪The research conducted by Jean-Claude Chamboredon on early childhood in the 1970s provides a valuable basis for studying cultural transmission in contemporary class society. Based on a field survey carried out in the 2010s, the article describes the actualisation of the “discovery of the child as a pedagogical object” in different social groups. By analysing how children’s activities and exploration are facilitated, it shows that stable fractions of the working classes have grown closer to certain educational expectations while, in social classes better equipped with material and cultural resources, educational practices shape dispositions to secondarisation.‪
