520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Taken it’s persistent incidence, the author questions what “the sacrificial mother” as she calls it, but also the infant slaughter, could be the symptom of ? Sacrifice is seen here a unveiling a hidden collective or individual trauma. The unreedmable debt that comes with “giving life” is something to which can only respond a mother’s incoditionnal gift, the other name for separation. Anne dufourmantelle, thus, makes the hypothesis that there is a strange economy of sacrifice, on the realm of an obstructed, or forbidden memory. From the figure of Medea, another face of the infant slaughter mother appears. A way of saying no to the trauma that she is in charge of and in which she’s enbodied. The reality at stake is what bounds sacrifice to truth : to whom adresses the infant slaughter by its mother ? |
