520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Boredom in high potential and gifted childrenBoredom is an experience present in gifted or high potential children. These children are often bored until the end of compulsory education. Boredom is a frequently given reason for consultation in child psychiatry. It is important to decode the meaning of this boredom: sadness, lassitude, need for a friendly presence, correct support...It is also important to know what this experience of boredom can bring to the child: observing, experimenting, creating, socializing... How can parents react appropriately: learn to decode the meaning of this boredom, contain it, teach the child to cope with it, and not hesitate to consult. Boredom at school can indeed create burn out in the high potential child or adolescent. |
