| Summary, etc. | En rapprochant le geste de Robert Desnos « disant la bonne aventure » à Auschwitz, et la dernière demande de Kafka à son médecin : « Tue-moi, sinon tu seras un assassin », on peut, semble-t-il, isoler la notion d’un « humour du dernier mot », compatible avec l’article de Freud de 1927. Cet humour évoque toujours un rapport à la mort. Pour Kundera, « l’humour rend tout ce qu’il touche ambigu ». Chez Kafka la « métamorphose » serait une technique de l’humour, comme celle du « collage » pour Desnos. « L’humour du dernier mot » est-il un ultime recours de l’humain comme être parlé-parlant ? |

| Summary, etc. | If we draw a parallel between R. Desnos’ sudden impulse to palm read and tell good fortunes to his fellow prisoners in Auschwitz and Kafka’s last request to his physicianfriend : « kill me, if not you will be a murderer », we may delineate a notion of « humour of the last word », such as Freud described in his paper of 1927. This kind of humour always evokes a connection with the proximity or the imminence of death. According to Kundera, humour renders ambiguous whatever it touches, « Metamorphosis » becomes for Kafka a technique of humour, not unlike the technique of « collage » for Desnos. Could « humour of the last word » be considered as the ultimate symbolic manifestation of humanness, i.e. of the human being as « speaking-and-spoken-of » (« L’être parlant-parlé »). |
