520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | In inventing the Not-all, Lacan not only illuminated Freud’s “dark continent,” but also logically realized a structure that is “holed,” functioning to supplement the phallic. Freud had similarly discovered it but had not the conceptual tools to demonstrate it. The Not-all concerns men just as much as women if they seem to have a more immediate rapport, as Lou Andréa Salomé would exemplarily show. That a subject is able to situate herself in terms of this hole, that he invents a savoir-faire with what he reiterates, or with the hole itself, instead of letting herself be engulfed by the jouissance that it contains — this could be the aim of an analysis that would not have the oedipal norm as its horizon. |
