| Summary, etc. | L’article questionne le rôle des acteurs étatiques et professionnels dans les processus de traductions et de transferts de pratiques et savoirs médicaux – ceux de la médecine chinoise traditionnelle – entre deux pays – la Chine et la France. À l’aide de la sociologie des groupes professionnels appliquée à la question des transferts internationaux, nous montrons que les possibilités d’importation, et les formes et modalités de celle-ci, sont déterminées en grande partie par les jeux d’acteurs du pays importateur. Si l’enquête empirique porte sur la France métropolitaine, nous avons suivi les démarches des professionnels et la manière dont ils mobilisent le transnational et l’international dans leurs luttes juridictionnelles locales. |

| Summary, etc. | The slow integration process of chinese medicine in FranceThe article questions the role state and professional actors have played in the process of translating and transferring practices and medical knowledge – those of traditional Chinese medicine – between two countries – China and France. Using the sociology of professional groups as applied to the question of international transfers, we show that “importing” possibilities, as well as their forms and modalities, are largely determined by struggles between actors in the importing country. While the empirical research focuses mainly on metropolitan France, we have also followed all the professional actors involved and the way they have mobilized the transnational and the international within their national jurisdictional conflicts. |
