| Summary, etc. | Contrairement à une idée reçue, le langage n’est pas fait pour transmettre un contenu univoque, de manière « immédiate », « claire » et « transparente », puisqu’il n’est fait que de différences, comme l’expliquait déjà Saussure. Il est plus que jamais nécessaire de considérer le langage dans toute sa complexité, afin de pouvoir décrypter les fake news omniprésentes à l’heure la « post-vérité », de Trump à Bolsonaro, en passant par Orbán ou Salvini. Mais, que ce soit par l’intermédiaire de l’anglais « planétaire » ou de la rebabélisation d’Internet, il faut également prendre en compte les sources d’incommunication d’ordre linguistique et interculturel, qui amènent la traduction à occuper une place centrale dans la compréhension du monde contemporain. |

It is more necessary than ever to grasp language in all its complexity, in order to decipher the fake news that is ubiquitous in the “post-truth” era, from Trump to Bolsonaro, not to mention Orbán and Salvini. However, whether by the intermediary of “global” English or the “rebabelizing” of the Internet, it is also crucial to factor in the linguistic and intercultural sources of incommunication, which make translation central to our understanding of the contemporary world. |
