Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | Gender identity: anxieties specific to masculinity and femininityThe foundation of the subjective feeling of gender identity is the experience of one’s sexual anatomy, which is the object of various responses, interpretations, and attributions transmitted by the parents according to their cultural background and historical context. Confronted with these parental messages, which can be explicit or implicit, conscious or unconscious, the child must structure the psychological experience of its own body. In this paper, we integrate psychoanalytical theory with the contributions of Hans Lichtenstein, Jean Laplanche, Christophe Dejours, Robert Stoller, and Doris Bernstein to elucidate the developmental conditions that shape the anxieties specific to masculinity and femininity. |

Summary, etc. |
