| Summary, etc. | Nous abordons ici l’étude de puisque en français et puesto que en espagnol de façon contrastive à partir de l’étude d’un corpus étendu, littéraire et journalistique. Nous nous situons dans une perspective sémantique non référentialiste qui considère les connecteurs comme des marqueurs de stratégies énonciatives. Nous nous donnons un triple objectif : a) préciser la définition sémantique de puisque et puesto que à l’aide des notions de polyphonie et de stéréotype ; b) étudier leur comportement formel et mettre en lumière leurs propriétés sémantico-pragmatiques ; c) déterminer l’éventuelle existence d’une correspondance entre un certain comportement formel et certaines propriétés linguistiques. Nous serons ainsi amenées à postuler l’existence de trois entités sémantiques sous l’entité lexicale puisque et de deux entités sémantiques sous puesto que. |

| Summary, etc. | “Puisque” and “puesto que”: two markers reconsidered This paper is based on an extensive literary and journalistic corpus, both in French and Spanish, and deals with the study of puisque and puesto que. We start from a non-referential semantic perspective that considers connectors as markers of enunciative strategies. The purpose of the study is three-fold: a) to improve on the semantic definition of puisque and puesto que by using the notions of polyphony and stereotype; b) to study their formal behaviour and shed some light on their semantic-pragmatic features; c) to explore the existence of a correspondence between their formal behaviour and their semantic-pragmatic features. This leads us to claim the existence of three semantic entities under the lexical entity puisque and two semantic entities under puesto que. |
