520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The children’s nurturing environment illustrated by Bolivian and Congolese examples in Bolivia and CongoThrough the examples of a malnourished child (Bolivia) and a child in good health (Congo), I will outline what I propose to call the nurturing environment. This includes all individuals, adults or children, who may or not belong to what is commonly referred to as “the family” in a given society, and who participate in food-related activities in various ways. This study will show how the activities of the nurturing environment vary both in frequency and nature according to the identity, status and prerogative of the actors implied, and according to the different stages of children’s feeding cycle. It will finally be suggested that the notion of nurturing environment is useful to spot and analyse the social and cultural situations, which might potentially present feeding and nutritional risks. |

Summary, etc. |
