Cet article retrace trois paliers de la première réception allemande du modèle moliéresque de la haute comédie « sociétale », à l’exemple des Précieuses ridicules, en étudiant leurs traductions et adaptations de 1670, du tournant du siècle et de 1752, dans le contexte du décalage civilisationnel et culturel alors existant entre les deux pays. La réception allemande de la pièce progresse de l’incompréhension à l’assimilation puis à l’émancipation du modèle civilisationnel français évoqué. |

| Summary, etc. | Molière’s plays were performed and translated during his lifetime in Germany, where his prestige remained unequalled until the second half of the eighteenth century. This article traces three stages of the early German reception of the French playwright’s model of “high comedy” portraying modern Parisian society by analyzing translations and adaptations of Les Précieuses ridicules published between 1670 and 1752. They reveal the existing gap between French and German culture and society during that period while shedding light on the gradual changes in the play’s reception: initial incomprehension gives way to assimilation and finally emancipation from the French model. |
