520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This essay deals with the antihumanist critique to Enlightenment which relies on the objection to the existence of “human nature” and thus calls into question universal equality, fundamental to the Enlightenment thought. In the first part of the text, the author notes that the present objection is closely linked to the parallel negation of the modern subject: a double negation of human ‘nature’ and subjectivity that, paradoxically, today brings together the right-wing ethnic communitarian movements and the postmodern philosophical thought, so-called leftist. The second part of the essay is devoted to the constructive criticism of the concept of Enlightenment equality by the Italian psychiatrist Massimo Fagioli, based on his own “theory of human birth”. In his conclusions, the author indicates how this psychiatric theory is able to provide useful arguments for the philosophical quest for a new idea of equality in our time. |
