L’expression, substantivée, qui catégorise le roman policier invitant par une série d’indices donnés à identifier un coupable dans une affaire à caractère criminel vaudrait pour le roman de Dominique Catteau, Le Mystère du Louvre-Lens. Du directeur du célèbre musée au commissaire du secteur, tout le monde, jusqu’au criminologue parisien dépêché sur place… et au lecteur lui-même, voudrait débrouiller cette affaire, apporter des réponses aux questions qui se posent, détenir la clé de l’énigme…Mais à regarder de près l’intrigue bâtie par Dominique Catteau, on comprend que déjà ce sont d’autres questions qui se font jour : qui les enquêteurs diligentés pour cette affaire sont-ils vraiment ? Le « qu’a-t-il donc fait ? » ne primerait-il pas le « qui l’a fait ? ». Qu’a fait cet individu dont les agissements tombent sous le coup de la loi ? From the director of the famous museum to the commissioner of the sector, everyone, down to the Parisian criminologist dispatched to the scene… and to the reader himself, would like to unravel this affair, provide answers to the questions that arise, hold the key to the riddle…But looking closely at the plot built by Dominique Catteau, we understand that already other questions are emerging: who are the investigators commissioned for this case really? The “what did he do?” would it not take precedence over the “who did it?” What did this individual do whose actions fall under the law? And what does an author do with the detective who seems to display cautious reservations about the supposed interest of this genre, and about its relevance, in a novel that seems to claim it? Conceived as an escape, Le Mystère du Louvre-Lens brings us back to ourselves and never ceases to question… the future of man in society, the state of human society, the world as it goes. |
