520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This article addresses the fundamentals of psychoanalysis, the clinical political strategies used with subjects under the impact of forced migration and the violence suffered by newly-arrived immigrants in São Paulo, Brazil. The article criticizes the use of the concept of trauma to characterize immigrants and refugees because both the political dimension at the base of the violent events (Fassin, 2009), and the dimension of the subject’s choice and its ability to process and resume its subjective and political position. We use Lacan’s theory (1973-1974) to establish the difference between the violent event and the dimension of the trauma as hole, « trou » which articulates anguish and desire, in the a posteriori time and provides key elements to think tactics and strategy in clinical intervention. |
