520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Based on her own experience, the author explores what is at stake working with interpreters in a child psychiatry centre (CMPP). Some therapists view using interpreters with reservations. It is, however, indispensable, for clinical reasons which are self-evident, and may even serve as a therapeutic catalyst. Through the psychotherapy held with a young girl for several months, the text highlights how the presence of an interpreter has built a particularly important setting. As a third person in the clinical setting, the interpreter changes the context of communication. The transfer is built on the clinician and on the interpreter, and temporality of verbal exchanges is modified. These elements will play an unexpected therapeutic role here. |
