520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | In the aftermath of the Second World War, far from embracing the idea that children were traumatized by the conflict and its violence, psychiatrists seem to have fallen back on their hereditary readings, even if they recognize war as a psychological experience. If one could expect a traumatology woven around the weight of war in children’s disorders, or even the discovery of specific pathologies and treatments, one is struck by the strength of another observation: the war only revealed latent pathologies in children. It is then a question of measuring the gap between the moral economy of childhood victims of war and psychiatric theory, of giving historical depth to the question of child trauma, and finally of highlighting how child psychiatry was then being developed and how the war that had just ended contributed to this, for example regarding the place of the analytical corpus. |
