Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Back to the pastThis paper is a reaction to Marc Valleur’s “The nature of addictions”. These comments deal with a central question in medicine in general and psychiatry in particular: how to differentiate a disease, a disorder, an illness from normalcy. Behind this question hides a construct of a psychopathology without brain defects or without brain at all. This position, frequent in the social sciences and in psychology reveals a dualistic position in mind-brain relations. Needless to say, the radical reductionism observed in neurosciences is no more acceptable. |
