Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Research in psychotherapy has always existed. It became a major stake in the context of the Evidence based practice which includes in the definition of a treatment its effectiveness and falls under the management of the costs of the disease. After one period when psychotherapy had to show that it was effective compared to the pharmacological treatments and the absence of treatment, the conditions and the causes of this effectiveness are now questioned. This objective gives a new prospect to the systematic case studies which, by articulating the effects with the process of the psychotherapy that underlies them, makes it possible to take into account the individual characteristics and the processes of change. These studies are interesting for the clinicians because they offer at same time an objectivization for the complexity of their activity, the progressive effects of the therapy and the configurations of the processes on which they rely. The Practice Based Research Network on Psychotherapy opens a framework that makes it possible to join individual experiments together and to use them with a qualitative and quantitative approach where knowledge, practice and demonstration of the effectiveness can be joined together. |
