General note 6
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Prison is a source of violence because of the constraints it imposes on the time and space of inmates. It prevents any possibility of investment in and appropriation of spatial and temporal aspects that would help create continuity between life within and without prison walls. Moreover, this violence risks leading to a state of indifferentiation, which is itself a source of violence. As difference is no longer accepted by the prison institution, bodies go on the rampage to maintain weakened boundaries. The spatio-temporal constraints imposed give rise to a destructive dynamic that spills over into prisoners’ speech. Repetition is symptomatic of this psychic claustration. But there are ways out of this violence, or ways of surviving in spite of it, such as writing, rebellion, or hatred.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
