520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Starting with the example of France, this contribution explores the way in which the State imposed itself in the management of the crisis provoked by the Covid-19 pandemic. This return of the State is not without ambiguity. Public health issues have taken precedence over a number of fundamental freedoms, such as the right to public worship. The principle of subsidiarity that has been abused, creating the risk of an authoritarian drift even in liberal democracies. Theological reflection invites us to critically examine the totalizing claims of the State. |
