He explains how patients employ a defensive strategy of self-calming techniques and exhaustion behaviors in order to stem the excess of traumatic excitation and the outbreak of somatic illnesses, due to a lack of drive fusion and of phantasmatic thinking. This article also examines the role of negation and sadism in the therapeutic process. |
