Der Autor zeigt, dass dieser Brauch, ohne Wissen der Protagonisten, die der Erwachsenen-Kind-Beziehung inhärente Gewalt materialisiert. Auch in der durch die Konsumgesellschaft umgewandelten Form, zeigt dieser à priori symbolischer Ritus elterlicher Frömmigkeit die unterschwellige Feindseligkeit der Familienbande.
