520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | We should not be afraid of the palliative role of analysis, if the patient’s psychic equilibrium is guaranteed by it, even if there is a risk of interminability. On the other hand, there is a need to raise questions about the prolongation of analyses and the rising age of analysts in training. The ageing or illness of the analyst may mean that the direction of the analytic field is inverted for the benefit of the analyst. Usually, on the contrary, the unfolding of the process is accompanied by an introjection of the analytic function. The ideal of a self-analysis continuing after its end must be abandoned with regard to the efficiency of splitting and the possible transmission of blind spots. The technical modalities of the end of analytic treatment are discussed. The introjection of the analytic function is not the same in the case of mourning with identification as in the case of transitionality, with a simple decathexis. The parental position of the analyst is brought into play in separation. Can the end of treatment occur without having obtained modifications of early topographical or temporal psychic alterations? |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
