520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The author describes the moment in an analytic process when, starting mainly from his counter-transference, he is led to formulate constructions concerning his patient’s unhistoricized and lost past. After revisiting the notion of temporality through two versions of repetition, he focuses on compulsive repetition, which seems to belong to the present and to refer to the non-constitution of a past. He suggests that primary traumas have prevented genuine unconscious ideation from being registered, resulting in temporal confusion and repetition in a never-ending actuality. Constructions rather than interpretations introduce historicization into the psyche. During the work of construction, counter-transference comes to the fore, and the analyst participates more directly in the very occurrence of deferred effects in the analysand’s psyche. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
