| Summary, etc. | Résumé Dans l’historiographie existante, les bénéfices politiques du plan antidrogues de Six Ans lancé en 1935 par le Guomindang sont principalement ramenés à l’augmentation et à la meilleure maîtrise des revenus de l’opium, rendues possibles par un début de monopole d’État. Le but de cet article est de montrer que le plan de Six Ans ne fournit pas seulement au Guomindang une occasion de renforcer sa légitimité, en spéculant sur un consensus quasi général en faveur de l’éradication de l’opium. D’une façon plus inattendue, la propagande qui accompagne les premières années du plan de Six Ans justifie aussi indirectement deux des orientations les plus contestées de sa ligne politique générale : la personnalisation du régime en faveur de Jiang Jieshi et le relatif attentisme dont il fait preuve jusqu’en juillet 1937 face à la menace japonaise. Dans ce dernier cas, le Guomindang s’efforce de convaincre que l’éradication des drogues constitue une priorité aussi vitale que la lutte contre le Japon, que la réussite de la campagne antidrogue est la clé d’une résistance victorieuse. |

| Summary, etc. | In the existing historiography, the political benefits of the Six-Year plan against drug trafficking launched in 1935 by the Guomindang are mainly summarized by the increase and the better control of opium revenues, made possible by the start of a State monopoly. The aim of this article is to show that the Six-Year plan does not only provide for the Guomindang an opportunity to reinforce its legitimacy by speculating on a quasi general consensus in favor of opium eradication. In a more surprising way, the propaganda which accompanies the first years of the Six-Year plan also indirectly justifies two of the more challenged orientations of its broad political line: the personalization of the regime to the benefit of Jiang Jieshi and the relative waiting-game that it displayed towards the Japanese threat until July 1937. In this last case, the Guomindang attempts to convince that drug eradication constitutes as vital a priority as the fight against Japan, that the success of the anti-drug campaign is the key to a victorious resistance. |
