520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Fake representation or the Naturalised Image of Death. This article explores the notion of fake representation, the naturalised object of which is among the most troubling paradigmatic figures we can find. This aims at showing how unthinkably active ‘naturalised’death can be in the home – heimlich – the discourse, symptom or transference of which may bear the fixed stamp, but for which the price to pay is unavoidably that of disafferentation, be it drive-based or representational, with the object. The article aims at showing how in a clinical case of pathological bereavement, this form of afterlife that refuses the object its status as an image, a fortiori that of a ghost – when discourse naturalises the object, when the symptom does not act as a living fossil but primarily bears the marks of immobility – and to show here the value of ‘worrying strangeness’as a vector of inhumation. |
