| Summary, etc. | The Psychoanalytical Clinic of Psychoses and the Archaic The set-up in which analysis is practised, in that it upsets the balance in the subject’s defence mechanisms, should only allow for calculated risks to be taken, privileging the lesser of two evils, a stance which determines ‘analysability’ not in terms of the subject’s capacity relative to the notion of ‘talking, ’ but in relation to the role played by the analysand’s unconscious desires for life and death. This article will discuss changes in the way analysis is practised with psychotic patients from the specific viewpoint of Piera Aulagnier’s theories, both before and after her split with Lacan. |
