Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Today, we are witnessing the decline of singing in poetry. Firstly, we shall question the reasons for this disappearance by attempting to verify whether this decline is indeed as clear as it is thought. A dialogue improvised between Stéphane Mallarmé’s poetry and ancient Mexican songs in the Nahuatl language will provide some elements towards establishing an answer. Secondly, a reflection on the translation of a Nahuatl song and a poem by Paul Celan will serve to remind us that the central issue of poetry is creating bonds and sharing, creating a movement which transcends both space and time. |
