520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | ‟ We have the technology to return to the Moon and renew American leadership in human space exploration”. These words, pronounced by the former American vice-president Mike Pence during the 5th meeting of the National Space Council, remind us that space is at the heart of growing ambitions and international rivalries. Technological developments in recent years have made space more accessible. More than 70 states now have their own satellites in orbit. Furthermore, the creation of new space programs aimed at the Moon and Mars reveals that deep space is also a new strategic priority for the main space powers. By taking the example of projects destined for the Moon, this article invites us to question the geopolitical stakes linked to the exploitation of celestial bodies and the return of manned missions in deep space. |
