Hearing impairment and discrimination in employment during lockdown

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2025. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Despite a range of public policies designed to promote their employment, persons with disabilities remain far removed from the labor market. Hiring discrimination against them on this market could partly explain this. Although the international literature on this discrimination has grown in recent years, quantitative studies in France are still in the minority. The lack of data on disability makes it difficult to carry out such research. Using the correspondence test method to collect experimental data, this research aims to assess the extent of hiring discrimination against persons with severe hearing disabilities for administrative managers in the Paris region. It also questions the evolution of such discrimination in the presence of an exogenous shock to the labor market, such as Covid-19, and more precisely the first lockdown during which we observed a sluggish labor market.
